1. Who we are

This website is operated by Gary Johnson (sole trader) trading as Locksmiths in Kent, registered address 10 Hampton Road, Stansted, Essex CM24 8FE. You can contact us at info@locksmithsinkent.com. In these terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to that business, and "you" refers to the visitor or customer using the site.

2. What our service is (and is not)

Locksmiths in Kent is a booking and introducer service only. We take enquiries from homeowners in Kent and pass them to a vetted independent locksmith from our network. We do not attend jobs and we do not carry out locksmith work ourselves.

When you submit an enquiry, we introduce you to one locksmith who will contact you directly to quote for and, if you agree, carry out the work. The contract for the locksmith work is between you and that locksmith, not with us. Any invoices, guarantees, warranties and consumer rights relating to the work itself sit with the attending locksmith.

3. Vetting of network locksmiths

Before adding a locksmith to our network we verify:

• Proof of current public liability insurance;
• Photo ID;
• Trade accreditations, and any DBS or background check documentation they hold.

We re-request current documentation periodically. We do not, however, employ, supervise or control the locksmiths, and we cannot guarantee the outcome of any individual job. You are entitled to ask the attending locksmith for a copy of their insurance certificate and ID at the door before any work starts.

4. Quotes, price and payment

Any price the locksmith quotes to you by phone or on arrival is between you and that locksmith. We do not set prices, take payment for jobs, or hold customer funds. Payment terms, refunds and receipts are handled by the attending locksmith directly.

5. Using the site and the enquiry form

You agree that:

• The details you submit are true, accurate and your own (or you have permission to submit them);
• You are 18 or over;
• You will not use the site or the form for anything unlawful, abusive, or to harass anyone;
• You will not attempt to interfere with, scrape, overload or damage the site.

6. Availability and response times

Response times and arrival estimates given on this site (for example "30 to 45 minutes") are typical estimates for local addresses under normal conditions. They are not a guarantee. Availability depends on the locksmith's current workload, traffic and location.

7. Complaints

If you are unhappy with the work carried out, please raise it first with the locksmith who attended, as your contract for the job is with them. If you cannot resolve it, or if your complaint is about how we handled your enquiry or your data, email us at info@locksmithsinkent.com and we will investigate and respond within 14 days.

8. Our liability

We provide the introducer service using reasonable care and skill. Because we do not perform the locksmith work, we are not liable for any loss, damage or delay caused by the attending locksmith, or for the workmanship, parts or price of the job itself. That liability sits with the locksmith you contract with.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Subject to the paragraph above, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising from your use of this website is limited to £100.

9. Consumer rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 or the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.

10. Reviews on this site

The customer testimonials shown on this site are illustrative summaries of feedback we have received. Names have been shortened or changed for privacy. Where a specific review is a verified individual review we will label it as such.

11. Intellectual property

The site design, text, images and logos are owned by us or our licensors. You may view and print pages for your own personal use. You may not copy or reproduce material from the site for commercial use without our written permission.

12. Data protection

How we handle personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy. Cookies are described in our Cookie Policy.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.
